--The South Park Movie : A certain song is stuck in my head...
--Matrix Revolution : It was better than the second one!
The other day, I had a Harry Potter discussion class. Eight people showed up (all grown adults)-
-Two people who read up to Book 4 (in Japan, Book 5 is yet to be released)
-One person who read up to Book 2
-Two people who read up to Book 1
-One person who watched the movies
-and Two people who have never read the book or watched the movie (why come!?)
After a trivia quiz and a short conversation, I divided the students into two groups and made them write an ending for the Harry Potter series. Here's what they came up with (spelling errors corrected):
GROUP A (vicious circle story)
Harry became 18 years old. He graduated Hogwarts and got married with Hermione. They have one baby. They live with Sirius in the forest near Hogwarts. One day Voldemort came to Hogwarts. He killed Dumbledore and came to Harry's home to kill him. Hermione and Harry fought against Voldemort, but they died. However, Voldemort couldn't kill the baby.
GROUP B (soap opera story)
Harry and Hermione are married. Ron quit the school because he is depressed. Harry became a teacher of philosophy. School burns down. Malfoy and Ron built a corporation and they got a lot of money. Rebuilt the school. Ron fired Harry. Malfoy approached Hermione. Harry became a detective. Harry and Hermione's child is a better wizard than Harry. Harry's son became the Headmaster of Hogwarts because Dumbledore is old.
....Being a RonxHermione person, I don't understand why all my students want Harry and Hermione together... and for some reason they all agreed that Dumbledore, Ron, Hagrid, Snape and Sirius (!) would die at the end but Voldemort would live. ......

Okay, back in Tokyo. My two-week vacation was relaxing. Most of my time was used to loaf around and watch DVDs all day (due to the lack of car and auto insurance), but the remainder of the time I went down to San Diego and inhaled much dust cleaning out my grandparents' old house; went to the aquarium in Long Beach and touched shark eggs and looked at the tasty-looking... I mean, beautiful fishes; met my lovely friends and went to Santa Monica and had a lovely Italian dinner; ate high-calorie American food such as apple pie, chili fries, and pastrami sandwiches; watched a couple movies at the local AMC; bought cheap clothes; bought artificially flavored American candy which tasted like antibacterial soap; and the like.
I also spent a great deal of time with my beloved sister Cena. One of the nights we were reminicing about our childhood, and we were talking about all the toys we owned as kids - TinkerToys, Lincoln Logs, Preskool toys, all the various stuffed animals - and a wooden cobbler's bench:
Me:
Remember, it was this wooden thing with wooden nail-thingies and a mallet? You could pound the nails into the bench with it and it was really fun (well, at that time).
Cena:
Oh yeah!! I clobbered you with it*!
*it refers to the bench, not the mallet
Hence, a heartwarming memory turned into a bitter one. I remember this incident! I was bleeding from my scalp!
