Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 11:02 p.m.

This has been happening a lot recently... whenever someone asks my age, I answer them and they reply with "WHAT!?!?!?!? I thought you were about X years old!!" The number X is roughly 6 years subtracted from my real age. Okay, I'd understand if they think I'm 2 to 3 years younger than I look, but six years?! That's too much. What's weird is that when I was around twelve or so, people thought I was older. Much older. Strangers called me "okusan." (Which means "Missus"...T_T; Very shocking for a twelve-year old.) But there must have been a turning point somewhere, because when I was an upperclassman in high school, people started saying, "Aww. What middle school do you go to?" T_T# Argh. It's kind of annoying but I guess I'd rather look younger than older now. I'm hoping when I'm forty or something people will still think I'm younger...

Obsession: I watched part of the Shinsengumi tapes I brought up earlier... and I just found out that they're based on Shiba Ryotaro's novel "Shinsengumi Keppuroku"! What good timing. (I just finished reading it... XD) The Hijikata-san (played by Murakami Hiroaki) in it is nice. But as I become more of a Hijikata fan, I'm beggining to really hate the people who cast Beat Takeshi as Hijikata in "Gohatto".... >_<#

Ari-san : Aah! I want #9! XO For some reason none of the bookstores I went to had that volume...

Friday, March 22, 2002 - 06:10 p.m.

I've been working as a cashier at a supermarket for a couple of months, and apparently pulling twenty-pound bags of rice and boxes of six-packs of beer over the counter has damaged my wrist. Every time I bend my left wrist, it hurts. (By the way, don't you hate it when you have a body part that only hurts when you use it, so you try to explain how it hurts to someone by demonstrating and they reply sympathetically: "Then don't do that"?) So I put on a dorky wristband to support my wrist when I went to work the other day. One of the nice stocker boys saw my bright white wristband and ran over and said, "What did you do to your wrist!!?" Apparently he thought I tried to commit suicide or something... Hey hey, I don't hate this job that much... But, I don't think I'm gonna wear that wristband anymore. (besides, I lost it.)

Ari-san : Kazehikaru!! XD Who's your favorite character? By the way, I don't know what the latest volume is... I have up to 10 (but I don't own 9 though...)

General advice:

Be careful when picking your nose in public. Someone could be watching. I was performing my duties at my part-time job the other day, and my eyes happened to fall upon a full-length mirror propped up in the furniture section. What appeared behind my own reflection was a middle-age woman picking her nose in the corner. T_T;

To gentlemen: Be careful when readjusting your crotch in public. Someone could be watching. I was talking to a (young) guy the other day, and he reached down and readjusted himself while he was conversing with me. Gentlemen, if you must do such a thing, don't do it in front of the person you're talking to......!!! It's hard not to notice. T_T#

Oh, the other day I was helping a customer and before he left, he said "Thank you, mademoiselle." .....it was kinda nice... XD

Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 06:34 p.m.

I mentioned previously that I'm very interested in Japan's Bakumatsu history... especially the Shinsengumi. Reading Shiba Ryotaro's novel "Shinsengumi Keppuroku" (which I salvaged from a closet in my house) fueled my interests even more. So yesterday I went on a shopping spree and bought Kazehikaru by Watanabe Taeko... and it's great!! I absolutely love Watanabe-san's portryal of Hijikata Toshizo~~~!!! XD I also bought Moeyo Ken (another Shinsengumi novel by Shiba Ryotaro... about Hijikata-san), and also found two videotapes at home which contain Shinsengumi dramas (my mother taped it a few years back).... now I'm in Shinsengumi heaven. XD

Thursday, March 7, 2002 - 11:19 a.m.

Shortly after passing Tokyo Majin Gakuen Gehouchou, I received my pre-ordered copy of Harukanaru Toki no Nakade 2 in the mail~! XD I'm in gamer heaven. This game is one of the main reasons I bought my PS2. The other was Genso Suikoden III, which was supposedly coming out this month - I was all prepared - but now they pushed back the release date (again) to summer... T_T My great plan of buying a brand-new game every month has been foiled. But it's all right... because I've been playing Haruka 2 and it's just simply wonderful... >:D
