Wednesday, October 31, 2001 - 01:14 p.m.

It's October 31st already (happy halloween!)... and I haven't posted a single entry in this blog this month! This is too pathetic... I did write up some stuff (I write my blog offline), I just forgot to upload the text. T_T; So below are all the old entries I failed to put up the day I wrote them: (The whole meaning of "diary" has to be redefined for me...)

Wednesday, October 31, 2001 - 01:13 p.m.

Last week, I went to Washington D.C. and I spent the earlier part of the month preparing for that trip. The flight to Dulles wasn't that bad, but the trip coming back to LAX was terrible. The plane was packed and the person next to me was fidgity and the plane food smelled worse than usual and due to thunderstorms over the Midwest, we had turbulence. Bump bump bump. And I was already nervous about flying. I guess a five-hour flight is nothing compared to the ones that go overseas, but it made me not want to get in a plane for a while, nonetheless. At least I don't get airsick!

Wednesday, October 31, 2001 - 01:12 p.m.

My mother speaks to my father in Japanese, and my father talks to my mother in English. So, of course, they both have a pretty good understanding of each language, but once in a while they say something which the other doesn't comprehend, so my sister or I have to translate for them. The other day, my father came into my room and asked me, "What's zetsubou-teki?" which I replied with "WHAT?!" It turned out that my mother called my father "pathetic" because he couldn't remember something trivial that she said before. It's sad that they need their insults to be simultaneously interpreted... T_T;

Wednesday, October 31, 2001 - 01:11 p.m.

I while back, I forced upon my mother the book Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. The Japanese translated version, of course, because she wouldn't be fully comprehend the original... Since my mother and I do not share similar interests in literature (or practically ANYTHING, for that matter) I thought she would just read a couple lines and put it aside and never look at it again. But! I was wrong!! She just finished Book Three, saying it was "naka naka." ("Pretty good.") The only problem is, she keeps calling Azkaban Az-BAKA-n. Unintentionally, of course, but still... Now my mother is attempting to read Book 4 in English, since the Japanese version is not out yet...

Wednesday, October 31, 2001 - 01:07 p.m.

I thought I have pretty tough semicircular canals in my ears, because I don't get carsick or airsick. But recently it was revealed to me that my organs of balance aren't as strong as I thought, since I get polygon-sick. T_T; I found out by playing Baroque, a game (produced by ST!NG) my sister lent me... It's sorta like an action(?) game in first-person view. I can only play for a short period of time because all the walking and twirling and spinning around gives me a headache...

But!! I love the game! Basically, it's a Torneko's Mysterious Dungeon-type game, and since I really enjoyed playing that game (and Lufia II's Ancient Cave ^-^;) I really like playing Baroque. The atmosphere of the game is perversely creepy, though... the dungeon is a claustrophobia-inducing place called the "Tower of Nerve" and the monsters are grotesque-looking creatures called "Ikei." And to cure your hit points and vital points, you eat meat and hearts. And you chew on bones and equip imitation angel wings and use parasites to power up and use torture equipments to destroy the Ikeis...

Although, after an hour of playing, it makes me want to play something innocent and happier like Popolocrois or Rhapsody or something... ~_~;;
